As I have professed numerous times, I don't have a lot of patience with most things in life. I am a go-getter, take what I want, make it happen kind of girl. To help pass the time until "stuff" shows up in my email, here are thirteen things that take a LONG time to happen.... lets hope the list makes me feel less stressed over my own waiting.
1. the arctic woolly bear caterpillar takes 14 years before it can pupate and become a moth
3. Galileo spacecraft spent 6 years in space traveling from Earth to Jupiter (imagine being on that team at NASA)
5. the bishop pine cones require fire to open... the seeds can lay dormant for years
6. hair typically grows 1/2-1" per month, so if you wanted to grow it 10" it would take 10-20 months
7. it usually takes 66 days to form a new habit
8. winter kimchi needs to be buried or stored cold all winter before eating
9. from flower to chocolate bar can take over a year (9 mo of that is fertilization to ripe fruit)
11. Halley's comet goes by the Earth every 75 to 76 years... if you missed it in 1986, you'll have to wait until 2061 to see it again
12. If you're a HBO's Trueblood fan, you have to wait 40 weeks between each season, that's 280 days
