Tattoo tuesday- Lavonte Hester

Lavonte Hester
to Tattoo Tuesday

Give me four sentences that sum you up: what you do, who you are, where you've been...
My name is Lavonte Hester and I'm a Specialist in the US Army. Been in for 2 and a half yrs. I'm a Recovery specialist currently in Afghanistan, I'm stationed in Fort Drum, NY. I spent a year in Korea which was a life changing experience that taught me a lot about their culture  and their customs. I did all my training on the East coast which was a challenge because I've spent my whole life in San Jose, CA. The weather, the language and the restaurants were all different and new to me. I knew signing up was gunna be a life changing event but never would I have expect all the things I've done.
Lea's Note: Go 10th Mountain! Fort Drum rocks! LOL I'm partial to them, hubs was stationed in Drum for 18 months. Loved it there.

What was your first tattoo? Does it have meaning to you?
First tattoo well I'd been wanting one for like my last 2 yrs of H.S. it was like an itch that I couldn't scratch. So after Basic and AIT I finally went home to do some home town recruiting. I knew I wanted one and I knew what I wanted but what I didn't know at the time was a high quality artist. I got a scorpion with both of my parents initials!  Your probably wondering why get their initials? They were both scorpios and I had lost my father a few yrs back so it had so much sentimental value.

How many tats do you have?

Do you have any that you regret getting?
All the ink I have is a reflection of how I was feeling at the time. There is one I kinda wish I had changed but I like it this way. Leaves room for improvement.

Do you have more planned?
Oh yea once I get back from this deployment I plan on getting at least 3 more before I PCS

Do you buy into tattoos being addictive once you start getting them?
Hellz yea! Now I'm not one to fall for the Placebo effect but I have to say after the 1st one I've craved them more and more and still do.

What's your life plans for the immediate future? Long-term?
well 1st things 1st I gotta make it out of this country in one piece. hehe Once I'm back I have 2 objectives. 1. Get Promoted and 2. go to Ranger school. Long term goal well I want to become a nutritionist and a certified personal trainer.

What's something about yourself that most people don't know?
hmmm that's a tough one. Well very few people know I read poetry. I find it very relaxing and it's inspirational.

If you were a superhero, what would your power be? Your weakness?
I'd b a Super Saiyan.. and they have no weaknesses hehe

If there were no $ or time limitations, where would you be right now and what would you be doing?
Australia then New Zealand. Relax on the beach, sipping on something real good, and just really take in life.

Do you enjoy reading? Who's your fav author, or your fav type of book (suspense, mystery, biography, paranormal, etc)?
Not big on books I read a lot of workout articles and nutritional advice. I'm real big on fitness.
