My story:

I've been in love with the same man most of my life. We met one fateful day in seventh grade when he sat his fine ass in front of me in English class, and I haven't looked back! Our history is rich with funny stories, inside jokes, sad moments we've shared, and of course a little anger now and then. I've been "with" him longer now than I've been without him. We compliment each other. His ying to my yang. Or, as I love to tell him, his peanut butter to my chocolate!

I tell you all of this to preface the little story below.

We'd been "dating" for a few months, but at the time dating meant walking the halls at school together and passing notes. We'd progressed to the holding-hands stage, but hadn't kissed yet. I was a good two inches taller, being 13 and all. It was Valentine's Day and the school day was almost done. I nervously approached my locker each time our classes ended, in hopes of a moment to give him the little something I'd gotten him... and really hoping to get a gift. I made it through the entire day, and was disappointed that he hadn't said anything (or more appropriately written me a note about it.) I wandered to my locker to collect my coat and backpack. As I stood from gathering items from the bottom of my locker I saw a single red rose peeking around the edge of the door. I still remember the flutter of my little teenage heart when I saw my very first rose.

Sappy, I know, but I still have the petals from that rose. The little box I've kept them in has been with me through my entire life, and it could tell some wicked stories.

So, in celebration of the love of my life, I'd like to give away an e-book copy of Half in Love, which releases May 10th!

Excerpt:
Willie couldn’t stop her body from responding. Every cell cried out with greed for his touch. His scent enveloped her mind in a hot, sexual stupor. With the slight pain from the nibble on her collarbone, her body took over. She reacted with instinctual need. No more thought. No more worrying about claiming her mate. She needed to feel his body against hers. Needed to feel his shaft sliding through her folds and pumping into her, spilling his seed deep inside her body. A hot rush of want flowed through her body, making her gasp and squirm in his arms. The already soaked panties she wore were drenched with new arousal. She wrapped her legs around his waist, welcoming him further into the cradle of her body. She rocked against him, grinding her pussy against his cock trying to get the sensation she craved. She could feel the tightening of her clit with each pulse of their pelvises. His hands moved over her sides, sliding under her shirt, sending passion threading through her body. She flexed her back, trying to coax his wandering hands to her aching breasts. They wanted his hands on them, plucking and kneading her flesh. With a satisfied sigh, she threw her head back as his fingers finally encircled her engorged nipple, pinching and twisting. The slight pain ramped up her passion. She groaned when his fingers left her breasts, only to be replaced by his mouth. Hot licks of desire flicked across her nipples as he suckled. Each pull of his mouth made her climb closer to a release.
Her hands threaded through his hair pulling his mouth to hers. She licked along his lips until he opened his lips, inviting her inside the warm depths of his mouth. Their tongues twined together and slid along each other. One of his hands caressed her back and pulled her closer. The other traveled over her ass and pushed the seam of her jeans against her slit, adding more pressure and friction to their grinding. She moaned her need into his mouth. Her orgasm was so close, and they hadn’t even gotten skin to skin yet. She ground against him faster, harder, trying to get to the top of the climax climb. She wanted to fall over the edge, feel the release of the tension and lust crawling over her skin.
She pulled her lips from his with a groan and slid her lips down his neck, laving the skin with wet kisses and licks. Instinct had her flexing her jaw muscles enticing her canines to descend. She nipped the muscle at the base of his neck and reveled in the dark growl that vibrated against her chest in response.

  1. I got about $100 in Godiva chocolates from my ex and I figured it out that I HATED. He was trying to be sweet and everything....but....they ended up in the trash. Unfortunately the relationship ended in the trash as well.

    1. Hmmm, sounds like our hubs might be similar. He gave me a flyrod for one anniversary and took me to a trout stream for a weekend to teach me how to flyfish.

  6. Hi Lea,

I've never gotten any expensive chocolates from a guy, but when my first serious relationship started, it was just before I went to a big concert with some girlfriends & about 2 hours before I had to leave for the concert, he showed up at my house with a half dozen large & fragrent red roses, so that I wouldn't forget I had someone waiting for me to come back home. Ultimately, the relationship ended, but it was good while it lasted.

  7. Ok, I was in college and really liked the guy in the dorm where I lived(we had a co-ed dorm) I finally got up enough nerve to ask him out. He actually said yes. When he arrived he gave me a See's candy lemon truffle. I asked why, he said he had asked my friend and found that was one of my fave candy but I only ever ate one because they are sooo addicting! It was so sweet especially for a first date. We didn't last for long but he was an awesome guy while it lasted.

This hop thing is interesting. Thanks!

  9. I'm afraid that I don't have a story to tell as I've never received chocolate or flowers. Maybe that's why I love romance novels so much. LOL Ah well!
Half in Love sounds really good, by the way. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

    1. I totally agree. The hubs isn't one for giving me flowers and such, but our love is still strong. We actually don't celebrate things like Valentine's Day just for that reason! LOL

Glad you enjoyed the hop, there are definitely some great prizes out there!

  11. I got roses 27 years ago, when our son was born, no chocolate though. But last Valentine's Day, I got a few red roses, a heart shaped box of chocolates and a cute little stuffed doggie that had a tag that said I love you. :)
Thanks for the chance to win.
